How it works
You visit Spillit. You type. You post. That's it.
Your confession goes into a shared feed where others can react with empathy, reply anonymously, and like what resonates. The most-loved confession each day is featured as the Confession of the Day.
If you want your post to disappear, toggle "Disappears in 24h" before posting. After 24 hours it's gone for good.
How anonymity actually works
When you post, Spillit stores only the text, category, and timestamp. Nothing else. There is no user record, no IP log, no session linked to your post.
The one cookie we set — spillit_sid — is a random anonymous ID used solely to prevent duplicate likes. It cannot be used to identify you or trace your confessions. It knows you liked something, not who you are or what you wrote.
Even our own admin team cannot tell who wrote what.
Community guidelines
Spillit is built on trust. To keep it safe:
Be honest, not harmful. Spill your truth — but don't use anonymity to target or harass a real person.
Replies are for connection. If someone is hurting, respond with kindness. You don't have to agree — just be human.
Use the 24h option for sensitive posts. If you want to get it out but not leave it forever, it's there for a reason.
No hate speech, slurs, or targeted attacks. These will be removed.
No spam or self-promotion. This is a space for genuine confessions.
FAQ
Can my confession be traced back to me?
No. We don't collect your name, email, IP, or device ID. The only thing stored is the text you write. If you don't include identifying information in the text itself, there's nothing to trace.
Can I delete something I posted?
Because there are no accounts, we can't verify who wrote what — so we can't offer a delete button. If you want it gone, use the Report button and explain in your head that it's yours. Our team reviews reports regularly. Alternatively, use the 24h expiry when posting.
What happens when something is reported?
Reported confessions go to our admin dashboard for review. If the content violates the guidelines, it gets deleted. If it's fine, the report is dismissed.
Is this really free?
Yes. There are no accounts, no subscriptions, and no paywalls. Spillit is free to use.
What if I'm having a hard time?
If your confession includes certain keywords related to crisis or self-harm, Spillit will show you support resources automatically. You're not alone — see the section below.
